The most important information about contest:

1. Participation in the competition is free

2. Competition takes place in days: 5-17.10.2020

3. The competition is held in 5 categories:
  • ALFA - grade 4 and younger (schools from Poland), students born 2010 and younger (schools from outside Poland)
  • BETA - grades 5 and 6(schools from Poland), students born 2008 and 2009 (schools from outside Poland)
  • GAMMA - grades 7 and 8 (schools from Poland), students born 2006 and 2007 (schools from outside Poland)
  • TEACHER - teachers, coordinators, principals of schools participating in WMTD
  • OPEN - students born 2005 and older, parents of students attending schools that participate in WMTD 2020

4.The competition tasks are: mathematical and logical puzzles, which require from participants logical thinking as well as the ability to multiply and divide numbers.

5. Schedule
  • Registration - September 29 - October 5, 2020
  • I STAGE - Elimination - October 5-7, 2020
  • Announcement of the results of the 1st STAGE - October 12, 2020
  • Final - October 17, 2020, 7:00 a.m. UTC
  • Announcement of the final results - October 18, 2020 at 10:00 (UTC)

6. How to REGISTER?
  • STEP 1. Register your school to take part in the contest
    The registration is to be made by coordinator (on this website). After registering the school, the coordinator receives 5 CODES (a separate code for each category).
  • STEP 2. Handing over the CODES to the competition participants.
    The coordinator gives the participants the CODE that allows them to register for the contest (each category has a separate CODE). It is very important for the coordinator to give the CODE for the given category. Registering in the wrong category may result in the exclusion of the participant from the contest.
  • STEP 3. Create a participant account.
    Each participant enters the registration page and enters the CODE he received from his teacher. Then he or she sets up an individual participant's account, giving his or her e-mail, grade, year of born and fullname.

7. How does 1st STAGE (elimination) look like?
  • This stage lasts 3 days (starts on October 5, 10 a.m. (UTC), ends on October 8, 10 a.m. (UTC))
  • Each day participants log in to their account and download (in a pdf file) a set of 6 tasks (each category has its own set). Participants have 24 hours to solve them and send their answers.
  • Responses to tasks should be sent using the online form available on the competition website.
  • Based on the total number of points scored in the elimination stage, the order of places in each category is determined: the more points, the higher the place. Places 1 to 30 will qualify for the FINAL.

8. The final
  • Participants have 120 minutes to solve a set of tasks.
  • The order in the final is determined by the number of points earned. In the case of an equal number of points, the time of sending the answer decides.

9. Awards
  • For places 1-3 (in each category) there are awarded medals, diplomas, Grabowski Cards "Multiplication Table", a backpack and a pencil case.
  • For places 4-10 (in each category) - diploma, backpack and pencil case.

10.The tasks will be published in the following languages: Polish, English and Russian.
